A zine is a fan-made magazine where artists gather to create various content revolving around a specific theme.✦ What is this zine about?
This fanzine aims to explore different cultures guideed through the idols making a world trip!
We allow all characters to be featured but the main focused should be the idols.✧ Will the zine be physical or digital?
This is a free digital zine!✦ Do I need prior zine experience?
Prior zine experience is not needed!✧ If I do 3D/traditional art, Can I still participate?
Of course! We accept any media!✦ How many contributors will the zine have?
We don't have a set number of contributors yet!✧ I'm not sure if this fanzine is a tour around planet earth or the splatoon world
It's a tour around planet earth! The idea is having the idols discover different cultures of our current world, but if people are interested in seeing it, we're not opposed to also having a section of their world!✦ The location needs to be a country or a city?
For the interest check you can be more general, since we are just estimating for where do people want to participate!
As for the applications, we will ask you for a ranking of which countries would you like to represent. For the countries with more demand, we can definitely have more artists representing them and have various locations within it, but we will always prioritize having as many countries as possible!✧ Should I know what place I want to illustrate/write for?
Not right now! it would be good to have some ideas, but until applications there is no rush!✦ Will there be mod applications?
We aren't sure yet, the interest check will be a way to know how many people are intrested in participating, so we can see if we need some help! In case we do need people, they will open at the same time as the rest of applications.✧ Are you related to @grandfestzine?
No we are not! "Now or never seven" is the group name the idols have when the seven of them are all together, so that's why we have a similar name!
If you are intrested in a zine exploring the past, present and future of their world, you should definitely go check them out! They are releasing on may 17th!✦ What are the requirements for artists/writers?
We expect all applicants to meet the following requirements:
• Be at least 16 years of age before June 8.
• Have a Discord account, since we will be communicating through there
• Be able to meet deadlines in a timely manner
• Have some kind of portfolio to showcase your best works (a google drive folder works just fine!). It must be easily accessible and easy to navigate.
• Works with Splatoon characters are encouraged though not required.
• Upon acceptance, you’ll be required to submit a pitch of what you would like to portray in the zine. The more detailed the better!
We will NOT be accepting applicants who:
• Engage in discrimination of any kind (racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc.) and any form of harassment.
• Use generative AI in any form, it will be immediately rejected
